5. Data Security

Protecting personal information is one of the highest priorities of closers.dev. Closers maintains appropriate technical, organizational, and administrative safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, accidental loss, misuse, alteration, disclosure, destruction, or other unlawful processing. Our security measures include encrypted HTTPS communications using SSL/TLS technology, secure cloud infrastructure, restricted administrative access, authentication controls, activity monitoring, firewall protection, vulnerability management, regular software updates, secure backup procedures, and internal access controls based on business necessity. Despite implementing commercially reasonable security measures, no internet-based service, computer network, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for maintaining strong passwords, protecting their login credentials, enabling two-factor authentication where available, and immediately notifying us if they believe their account has been compromised. Closers continuously reviews and updates its security practices to address evolving cybersecurity threats and maintain compliance with applicable legal and industry standards.

6. Data Retention

Closers retains personal data only for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to comply with applicable legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, protect our legitimate business interests, and satisfy regulatory or accounting requirements. The length of time for which data is retained depends on the nature of the information, the legal basis for processing, and the applicable statutory retention periods. Account information is generally retained while your account remains active. If an account becomes inactive or is permanently closed, we may retain certain information for a reasonable period where necessary to comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce our Terms and Conditions, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Financial records, invoices, transaction histories, payout information, and accounting documentation may be retained for up to seven (7) years or longer where required by applicable tax or financial legislation. Identity verification documents submitted for KYC or AML purposes are retained only for the period required by applicable law or regulatory guidance, after which they are securely deleted or anonymized where appropriate.

Depending on your country of residence and the data protection laws applicable to your personal information, you may have a number of rights regarding the processing of your personal data. Closers is committed to respecting these rights and responding to valid requests in accordance with applicable legislation, including the UK GDPR and EU GDPR where applicable. Subject to legal limitations, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, obtain a copy of your data, request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information, request deletion of personal data where retention is no longer legally required, restrict certain processing activities, object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests, request the transfer of your personal data to another service provider where technically feasible, and withdraw consent for processing activities that rely on consent as their legal basis. Exercising these rights does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn. We may request additional information to verify your identity before responding to any privacy request in order to protect your personal information from unauthorized disclosure.

As an international online marketplace, closers.dev may process or store personal information in countries outside your country of residence.
